replacement product for ASR1001-X CUBE.

Hi folks,

i was stepping on the following issue.

The ASR1001-X is EoL, the repleacement product is the Catalyst 8500L. However C8500L does not support CUBE but ASR1001-x was.

CUBE guide suggests using the C8300, however these boxes have diffrent hw-specs (fewer ports and not OOB MGMT Port).

any thoughts ? Will the C8500L support CUBE in near future ?

We cannot discuss roadmap plans here; that requires an NDA. Ask your Cisco account team directly.

That said, the 8300 series are VERY capable boxes capable of significant scale for CUBE - easily as much as an ASR 1k-X was. The 6T models have more ports than an ASR did, any of which can be a management port if you put it in a VRF.

As a quick and available solution we will use the C8300-2N2S-4T2X with C-NIM-1M (Cisco Catalyst NIM Module 1-Port 2.5mGig with PoE) as OOB MGMT Port.
