The Sandbox labs - which provide free 24 X 7 hosted labs for integrating and working with Cisco technologies - are increasing all the time: as you ask for them, we build them!

In case you weren't aware, there are three types:

  • Always on labs: these shared labs are available to all users, and API calls can be made from your own workstation. Provides easy access to getting more hands-on experience with the API-based technologies.
  • Reservation-based labs: private preconfigured labs with all resources dedicated to you for the duration of the reservation.
  • Demo labs: labs with pre-configured demos and step by step instructions to complete the demo - perfect if you want to "kick the tires" on an API.

Recent Sandbox lab additions are:

Networking: Cisco Open SDN Controller --A developer environment to design, develop and test using the Cisco OSC APIs and sample network topology.

Collaboration: Cisco Unified Communication Manager v11.0 -- Resulting from the recent 11.0 release of CUCM, the preconfigured Cisco Collaboration Sandbox contains: Unified Communications Manager, Unified Presence Server, and the Jabber SDK. It supports integrated Voice, Video, IM, Presence, Cisco endpoint registration, and developer application connection or hosting and full administrative control to all servers.

Collaboration: Collab Plus  -- Includes registered Endpoints, traffic capability, and remote control of physical IP phones.

Security: pxGrid -- An environment to execute pxGrid sample scripts and become familiar with pxGrid operation. Java scripts expose the pxGrid APIs so you can build on these tutorials and create customized code for your environment.
