Do you want to know how to build a WiFi Hotspot using the latest technology in Cloud Networking? Check out this Cisco DevNet Learning Lab that guides you through building a WiFi network with Cisco Meraki and a splash page with NodeJS. Learn the steps required to build your first wireless SSID. Then get fancy with a customized captive portal. Build the foundation for a truly dynamic landing page that pulls in client details, saves user inputs, presents branding, advertising, Facebook login and more!

The lab will focus on the Meraki ExCAP API which provides a programatic way to interact with the wireless network and the guest experience. You will learn the core parameters of the API and how to leverage the Express NodeJS framework to interact with the system. Even if you are unfamiliar with NodeJS, all you need is a little bit of JavaScript and HTML knowledge to begin doing powerful things.

By the end of the lab, you will have a functional captive portal which can be used for your next WiFi hotspot project!

Go to the Learning Lab’s Step 1.
