If you've been following Cisco's Mobility story lately you've no doubt heard the expression "The New Normal" used quite frequently.  But what is the New Normal?  Simply put, the New Normal refers to how mobile technologies have, in a very short time, changed the way we all live, work, play, and learn.

No one knows this better than Verizon Wireless.  You could even make the case that Verizon Wireless, as the worldwide leader in deploying 4G LTE, has been largely responsible for this new mobile lifestyle.

But not content with simply providing ubiquitous access to the mobile broadband network, Verizon Wireless is working to develop and deploy a complete LTE ecosystem, from the application to the device to the network.  Toward this goal, Verizon Wireless has built a state-of-the-art complex in Waltham, MA to encourage and showcase the types of advanced mobile devices and applications that will bring the New Normal to life.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Verizon Wireless LTE Innovation Center a few weeks ago and was blown away by the technologies on display there.  Some, like the Smart Meter, I had seen before, but many more were ground-breaking and thought-provoking applications like Mobile Medicine, Augmented Reality Retail, and Connected Manufacturing that hold the potential to completely revolutionize entire sectors of the economy.

Gagan Puranik, associate director of the VZW LTE Innovation Center, was kind enough to give us a tour of the Center and a few minutes of his time.  Watch this video with Mr. Puranik and see how Verizon Wireless is delivering the New Normal today.
