For a device configured with multiple lines, is there a way (or ways) to find out what the "primary" line is for the user who controls the device? Is the order of Address elements in return value of Terminal.getAddresses() indicating the order of "preferences" (e.g., the 0th element is the user's primary line)?

It's not possible to determine the designated primary line via JTAPI. The first device in the array is not guaranteed to be the primary.

You can use the AXL SOAP API for this, however. The first <line> element in getPhoneResponse/return/device/lines will be the primary line, if one is configured.

David,

anyway to allow user to set the primary line?  We have device with multiple line and when we issue a hang up, it hung up a wrong line.
