I was running 8.0(x) fine, I could log in and had CTI control over phones. I "Upgraded" (Fresh Install) to 8.5(3)DR2 and now everytime I try to login in I get an Ivalid username/password error. Any hints that might help me out with this?

Have you verified the following?

1. Logged into the console using the platform admin user and disabled CSA
2. Restarted the server after #1
3. Logged into http://<server address>/cfadmin and configured settings with specifics of your deployment
4. Logged into the server using an external SSH client using root/cisco, updated and saved /opt/cisco/desktop/conf/CCERealm.properties with specifics of your deployment
5. Restarted appropriate servces (IMO easier to just restart again at this point)
6. Log into Finesse using the agent ID, not "login name" (Agent Explorer > AgentID (Peripheral number))

Yes, I did each of those steps. Still no luck.

I'm having the same issue with a fresh install of DR2 with UCCE 8.5(2).

I've also confirmed the above steps and am still having the problem (CSA disabled, server restarted, cfadmin settings in place, ccerealm.properties set, restarted again).

I have noticed that there is the error below in the container-desktop log suggesting the issue is with the SQL connection details which I've configured in the ccrealm.properties file. My credentials are valid (I'm using the sa user/SQL authentication - I assume this is supported). I'd welcome any suggestions as to why this is being reported as '' (blank) in the debug?:

Apologies if I'm hijacking your thread - just sounds like we have the same issue.

We have been testing with windows authentication to the sql server for authentication, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.  I will take a look at the code and try it in the lab here to see if I have the same issue.

I have the same problem with fresh 8.5(3) DR2.

Everything is configured, all steps done, but I am still getting "Invalid username or password.".
I am able to log in using the same credentials to CTI OS Toolkit.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,

martin

OK, so I changed it to Windows Authentication, which I had done before, but just out of curiosity I took out the .com from the domain name and it decided to start "working". I can log in now, but call control isnt working, and when I put a phone number in and click "Call" Internet Expolorer says "Error on Page" down at the bottom left and nothing happens.

The following additional information will help determine what is happening.

What version of windows and IE browser are you running?

Does the browser use a proxy?

A screenshot of the problem will help, along with details of the error.  If you click on the "Error on Page" it should pop up with additional details as to the script error that occured.

Depending on what is happening, server logs may help as well.

I was unable to configure CCERealm.properties to use SQL authentication as mentioned in this thread.

UCCE uses Windows authentication for all connections to MS SQL as described in the staging guide except for the Cisco Interaction Manager component.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1844/prod_installation_guides_list.html

Please try using a Windows account credential that has permissions to read the enterprise configuration database.

If you still have an issue with the Windows account, please post your logs to this thread

The error text from the browser is below. I'm  running IE 8. Screenshot is attached. Also, no proxy is being used.

I tried this on the developer release build in our lab and received the same error.  Make call was a work in progress at the time and was not yet working.  For details on what was available in the current developer release, please go to the FAQ on the Finesse Developer wiki

For Finesse 8.5(3) Developer Release (DR) 1 the basic call operations are Answer, Hang-up, Hold and Retrieve. In addition there are new web services APIs for custom gadgets.

Wow, I was running the previous release and I had complete call control. Strange something would have been taken out. Might as well go back to the previosu version I guess.

Richard,

We have made quite a few architectural enhancements in this version vs. 8.5(1).  Our next developer release will have makecall enabled.  sorry for any inconvenience.

Would you be interested in joining a demo meeting with our full development team to provide your feedback on this developer release?

Hello,

Could you specify what what the cause of this error? I'm having the same.

I've checked all the steps posted and everything is correct. I've also tried have the domain name, in the CCERealm.properties file as either "demo.local" and "demo". I've tried using a domain user to access the SQL database and also a local account and none of them works. I always have "Invalid username or password. Please try again." error.

Can you please help?

Thanks,
Zelino

Have you verified that Finesse is connecting to CTI Server?  Are you able to login the agent using CTI Test on the CTI Server?
