I have a C40 (TC4). I would like to get a picture-in-picture of the far site when there is a full screen presentation. It appears that the only option is selfview. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill
To my knowledge, this is not possible for the C40. For C60 and C90 you could have created a new layout in TC Console, but for C40 all you can do is choose from the pre-defined ones. The closest you get is the small picture on top of presentation, as shown in the attached picture.

its really annoying with C20/C40 and layouts.

we use wallpapers on all c20, and small pip selfview.

if connected, selfview goes to fullscreen on right screen, left screen shows fullscreen farend. nice so far.

when sending/receiving a presentation, the presentation goes fullscreen on rgiht screen.. ok so far..
but left screen layout changes to bigger window far end and pop smaller window selfview, but farend window is only half sized than the fullscreen with black bars on top, bottom, left and right.. the selfview is in the midle bottom of the screen. About 30% of the screen is black.

why the selfview doesnt stays in pip instead of pop, so the farend and presentation is displayed in fullscreen on each screen automatically.. or the selfview will disappear when Rx/Tx a presentation?

For TC2.x/3.1.1 it was possible to configure the auto layout mode to get exactly this.. with 4.x its not possible anymore, i have read the reason is that  c20 is not an integrator product.. but obviously we did mock-up one year ago to consider which codecs we want to buy, the actual c20 software was tc3.x .. so its a step backwards and not what we tested.

Maybe in future versions there will be more standard layouts implemented, but actually we will stay with tc3.1.1 (more stable version so far)

Thank you, Johan. That was the impression I was getting. Any idea why the C40 is limited in this way?

Hi Thomas

I believe I get the functionality you ask for with my C20 (TC4.1).

There is 2 default layouts: speaker participant and full screen participant. If I choose "speaker participant" I get far end in a big picture and beneath it my selfview. In this mode a lot of the screen is black.. I suppose this is the layout you have and you don´t like.

If I change layout to "full screen participant" I will get the far end participant in full screen with a small pip with the selfview in lower right corner (configurable). In both cases I receive presentation in full screen on monitor 2.

So, if I have understood you correct, toggle between the layouts with the layout button on your remote and you will be fine.

Best Regards,

Johan

Your welcome Bill !

I guess it is a way of differentiating the product line..   Also, as the C40 has less inputs and outputs, the need for such a tool is more limited than with its bigger brothers.

My question is how are you getting the option on the C40 to have a full screen presentation without the PIP video of the far end video. My current options are full screen with PIP only. Appeciate the help

Hi
You should be able to do this by changing the layout with the remote control (or the touch). Full screen presentation is one of the default layouts.
