Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators with DevNet STEAM
Give a warm welcome to our new community, DevNet STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)! DevNet STEAM is aimed at inspiring and encouraging the next generation of innovators and bringing kids more STEAM learning opportunities. We officially launched the community at the Bay Area Maker Faire in May with an IoT workshop where we made magic happen with drones and collaboration devices. Kids of all ages were able to join a workshop and build their first IoT application. DevNet STEAM wants to keep the magic alive, keep every kid curious and excited about STEAM. Get Your Network Traffic Roaring with TRex
Does viewing a diagram with a couple of networks connected with routers, switches, and firewalls mean your physical/virtual network works as it should? Of course not, you need traffic and TRex can help. TRex began as an open source project started by Cisco. It's a low cost, stateful and stateless traffic generator fuelled by data plane development kit (DPDK). In Stateful mode, it generates client and server side L4-7 traffic based on pre-processing and smart replay of real traffic templates. In Stateless mode, it can generate multiple streams at line rate and calculate statistics per stream/per interface. Check out the new site that gives you the resources you need! Back to top

DevNet Update is the monthly newsletter for Cisco's DevNet. DevNet is the web site for Cisco's Developer Program, providing tools and information that help you to produce Cisco-enabled applications to sell to Cisco customers, and/or use Cisco APIs to enhance or manage your existing Cisco network. DevNet puts on developer events throughout the year. You can see what events we have scheduled on our event page. At some of the Cisco Live conferences we put on full developer conferences called the DevNet Zone ‐ the next one will be at Cisco Live in Las Vegas in July.
