Faster, Simpler Dev Cycles with DevNet Sandbox
Imagine the time you could save running your code on live infrastructure that is already set up and ready to go. The DevNet Sandbox is exactly that! It's a collection of cloud-based labs that get you building proof of concept projects and testing them faster. Check out the recent additions:

  • Claim your Sandbox Super User title and back it up with these 7 tips to use Sandbox like a pro.
  • Need an enterprise call center? Cisco's Packaged Contact Center Enterprise (PCCE) is now on tap, check it out! Keep in mind PCCE is currently limited for Task Routing (no voice/calls yet) but that is planned to change in the future - stay tuned!
  • Get experience using Fog Director APIs to manage fog applications on IOx-enabled devices, get the details!
  • Who isn't concerned about security? With surging internet traffic, increases in cyber-attacks, and growth in IoT, open security solutions are in high demand. Cisco addresses security concerns with the Firepower security platform. You can now run your code on the new DevNet Firepower Sandbox. Read more about the prebuilt environment and what you need to get started (hint: just become a DevNet member)!
  • We've teamed up with dCloud and are proud to introduce the dedicated Collaboration 11.0 environment. Find everything you need to get started with Collaboration APIs - from Cisco Unified Communications Manager to MediaSense to Jabber and more. Find what you need for EMEAR and Americas.

Goodbye CLI and Hello to Programming Your Network by Policy
Not sure how to get started with network automation? One easy way is automating the deployment of new devices. Let Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) expert, Adam Radford, break it down for you. His Network Automation blog series on Plug and Play (PnP) are a great way to get started with Cisco DNA. Check out the following:

  • Part 1: Provides an overview of PnP and how it could be used on APIC-EM.
  • Part 2: Dives into specific examples of how network-device configuration templates can be created programmatically and uploaded to the controller along with PnP rules and projects by using the REST API. Find sample scripts in GitHub and more.
  • Part 3: Ties everything together with an "all-in-one" script using a client library called Uniq. Then dig into the code to build a Cisco-Spark chat-ops bot to integrate into the PnP API.
  • Part 4: Demystifies the different deployment models for edge switches.
  • Part 5: Covers an advanced case of Etherchannel + trunk + Non Vlan 1 for management (NV1) + Non vlan1 native vlan.

Curious where to go for more? Ask questions, get answers, connect with others, and post your comments here.
