Overview

The VXLAN in Mixed Data Center and Service Provider Environments lab familiarizes participants with VXLAN implementation and troubleshooting methods in a mixed service provider (SP) and data center (DC) network.

This lab demonstrates how to:

  • Practice VXLAN configuration for DCI on XR/NX-OS devices.
  • Explore verification methods of VXLAN in mixed SP/DC network.
  • Troubleshoot VXLAN.

  • Scenario 1: Configure VXLAN eVPN in DC1
  • Scenario 2: Troubleshoot VLAN DCI Between DC1 and DC2

Requirements

  • Laptop with Cisco® AnyConnect® and Telnet client software to connect to lab routers and switches.

  • VIRL 1.2.83
    • VM Maestro 1.2.8 Build Dev-474 (new)
    • VIRL_CORE 0.10.28.7 (new)

The following platform reference model VMs are available for internal users:

  • IOS XRv - 6.0.1 image
  • NX-OSv 7.3.0.1
  • Ubuntu 14.4.2 Cloud-init

This lab uses the following Linux container image:

  • Ubuntu 14.4.2 LXC
