I am preparing a solution for a client...I am offering them BE7K as it would give me C240 server at less cost..ONly applications requested are CUCM, CUC and presence. They also have request Webex solution on-premise. Is it possible to CWMS coreside admin and media server on the same C240 server if I have 8CPU and required RAM.

Hi Srini,

Many Thanks for your reply ...

Can you please also suggest what type of VMware license we need to order? With BE7K bundle only Hyperviser is included which i believe would not be able to support CWMS.

Yes you will need to sell STD or higher as per the CWMS planning guide

See this table and ensure BE7K meets those needs with disks.

Just my personal opinion but since this is a very resource intensive application unless you willing to engineer this correctly might be easy to sell the CWMS Bundle UCS packages and leave the cores on the BE7K for future UC apps like CCX, IM/P etc.

Hi Srini,

The document you have provided is internal to Cisco i think. I don't have access to it.

Could you please confirm on the CWMS  co-residency with other UC applications since as per the CWMS 2.5 deployment guide its not supported and VM will not start if its co-resident with other UC apps.

Thanks

Shakir.

Nope

  • Co-residency with Cisco Unified Communications products on the same physical ESXi host is not supported.
  • Co-residency with non-Cisco WebEx Meetings Server virtual machines on the same physical ESXi host is not supported.
