Deleting a network device group yields errorId=38

Cisco Prime Infrastructure v3.1.0

I'm cleaning up Cisco Prime; removing inventory and trying to remove network device groups from our former parent company.

When I try to delete a network device group the following text pops up:

Delete Operation failed. Group xxxxxxxxxx was not deleted.

errorId=38 deleteGroup API failed. Root cause: Could not execute JDBC batch update

I've searched the Internet and didn't find any helpful answers so I am posting here hoping others know more about this error, what it means and  how I might correct this so I can clean up Cisco Prime.

Thank you.

Scott

Scott,

Can you first verify that the group is empty and has no child groups?  If so, then please let me know and we'll diagnose the issue with you.

Parent Co

1st FL The device group is not empty. It has 4 Cisco 3600 Access points in it and there are no child groups.

2nd FL This device group is not empty. It has 12 Cisco 3600 Access points in it and there are no child groups.

These access points do not appear in Inventory -> Device Management -> Network Devices -> All Devices.

I’m not sure how to get rid of these access points and we no longer have connectivity to the parent company.

Drat.

While in the sub-group 1st FL, I went to ‘Add Devices Manually’ and saw that I could select an AP and then delete it. So I did this. When I went to ‘Save’ the changes I get the following error:

Create operation failed. Group 2nd FL was not created.

Update of Group Failed:Invalid API usage. null passed for Group object
