having issues with Outlook 2010 and the WebEx Add-in

We are having issues with Outlook 2010.

When you open a recurring meeting, it won't close.  Eventually it forces you to shut down the WebEx addin and remove it.

According to tech support, WebEx does not support Outlook 2010? !!!

This is a major issue in a Major Software Release.

This was a very valuable tool but now we are going to have to remove 10,000 webex add-ins because, they don't work.

Please find a fix and get it out to your customers (Partner versions too).

Hello,

Per my response above, the 64-bit Outlook support is on target to be released in Feb 2011.

Melody

Hi,

I'm a bit confused.  You mentioned "Support for 64-bit Microsoft Office 2010 (32 bit) using WebEx Productivity Tools and support for sharing Microsoft Powerpoint presentations (32-bit) is committed for the Jan 2011 timeframe"

I'm not sure what the "(32-bit)" in the first part of the sentence is, but I was reading that to be that you will be supporting Office 2010 64-bit in Jan 2011. If this is not the case, what part of the 64-bit will be supported in Jan 2011 per your comment?

Why do you say Outlook 64-bit will be supported in Feb 2011?  according to this sentence, I don't see how we're supposed to understand that - sounds like it is Powerpoint specifically:

"Support for sharing Microsoft Powerpoint presentations (64-bit) is committed for the Feb 2011 timeframe"

When exactly will you support:

Outlook 2010 64-bit

?

Hi Rafael,
I apologize, I read your original post a little too quickly!
Support for Outlook 2010 64-bit is included with the support for WebEx Productivity tools with Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit. This is being rolled out via WBS27.SP22 this month to customers.
If you need to know the exact date of when your site will receive this release, please contact your CSM.
Thank you,
Melody

Melody -

Are there any stability fixes to Outlook 2010 32-bit being included in the next release?  I have had to disable the latest outlook webex plugin several times as it crashes outlook or puts it in an unusable state within 5-10 mins of using it.

Thx.

Hi Toody,

I have done some quick checking with our Product Management and Engineering team and no issues have been reported about this. Since this seems to be a persistent problem (per your explanation in this post), I'd like to request that you contact Cisco WebEx support to report the issue. One important thing to note will be the version of Productivity Tools you are using so that we can better address this issue for you.

Thanks,

Melody

Hi Melody,

My version of meeting center is:

About Meeting Center
Version number:Meeting Center 8.5 (WBS 27)
Page build:27.11.21.9174
Client build:27.11.14.5767
Docs build:27.11.8.3

Do you have a date for the the release of WBS27.SP22?  I do not know how to contact my CSM because I work for a large company.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam,

WBS27. SP22 has already been released to customers and is currently generally available today. Based on the information you provided below you are on an older site. I'd advise you reach out to your IT team who is likely managing your WebEx deployment of conferencing. Your Site Administrator may have opted of the upgrade and/or if you have a large site may be planning a specific date to your roll it out your organization.

Melody

So does this mean that Cisco Webex Productivity Tools version 2.23 supports working as an addin for Outlook 2010 64-bit?

I want to be sure before I uninstall/reinstall Outlook.  This was the only reason I have been using 32 bit Outlook on my 64bit OS.

I would love to finally be able to upgrade.

-Paul

Hi Paul,

The version of Productivity Tools (PT) varies based on the current release of your WebEx site. If you are using the WBS27.SP22 release or higher, you just need to download the latest version of PT tools and using 64-bit Outlook 2010 with PT should work. Here are the steps to do this:

1) Login to your site

2) Go to the Support Menu (on the left hand side)

3) Click on the "Downloads" menu item

4) Scroll down and you will find the latest download for PT

Note - On this page you can also find the "About Meeting Center" section which shows you the release you on.

Hope this helps.

Melody

Melody,

Thanks much!

So my version is:

About Meeting Center
Version number:Meeting Center 8.5 (WBS 27)
Page build:27.23.0.9753
Client build:27.23.0.9761
Docs build:27.23.0.6

Is that WBS27.SP22 release or higher?

Thanks so much for clarifying for us!

-Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, this is WBS27.SP22 and higher. You are actually on our very latest version 23.

The way to read the versioning below is: Release.ServicePack

27 is the release

23 is the service pack

27.23

You should be all set as long as you download the latest version of Productivity Tools.

Melody

Melody,

Works great with Outlook 64bit!

Great success!

-Paul

Paul, just so everyone is aware. can you please report your full productivity tools version (about one click). Thanks.

First I uninstalled Productivity Tools.

Then I upgraded to 64bit Outlook, made sure it worked, it had to update the social connector and outlook connector on first start to 64bit.

After Outlook got everything installed and working, I downloaded the latest Productivity Tools from my webex site.

Ran the installer, choose the standard settings.

Opened Outlook and it was in my Toolbar under "Webex" and was able to schedule a few Webex meeting directly from my Calendar using this plugin.

Full version on "Productivity Tools"-->"About" is "2.23 T27L10N_FR23-9761"

Don't know what the full version string means, but that is what it says.

Will attach screen shots here.
