Pierre,By standalone mode, do you mean Mobility Express? Yes, you can download the Mobility Express image and convert from Unified Mesh to Mobility Express.

Flex+Mesh is a roadmap item for the AP1560. It is not committed to a specific release at this time, but look for it in 2nd half of CY18.

No, the two cannot be on the same mesh network. The last supported SW for the AP1520 is 8.0.and the AP1540 will be first be supported on SW 8.5.x-David
