Downtime when changing InlineGroup to Bypass

Hello,

is there an option/command to reduce the downtime of an InlineGroup when changing the Operating Mode from Accelerating to Bypass?

When I execute the "shutdown"-command at the InlineGroup it takes about 10 seconds till the InlineGroup is in Bypass Mode and Traffic flows again.

Regards,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Yes, you can change the failover timeout to the lowest value. default is 1 second and 10 second is the highest value.

This link might be helpful.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v421/configuration/guide/traffic.html#wp1062535

Thanks

Ashfaq

Ok thank you for the answer. But the failover timeout is already 1 second on our Appliances.

Is there another thing I can change?

How is the configuration look like on the swicth side? Delay could be due to spaning tree. Can you try with portfast configuration on the swith port?

thanks

Ashfaq

Thank you for the information! But the switch port is a trunk port... we have the WAE between a switch and an ASA firewall. Do you think it is a good idea to enable portfast at a trunk-port to an ASA?

Simon
