invoke jabber client from android app

Hi,

I installed jabber client in my android device. want to invoke jabber client from my mobile app tried using xmpp:xmpp:my@jid.tld but it is not working .the same working fine in windows browser <a href="xmpp:jid@cisco.com">jabber</a> and getting the error url_scheme not supported.

any suggestions....is there other way to invoke jabber client?
