Does an edge switch need an DNA advantage license before being discovered in Cisco DNA Center?

not required, the switch can be essential for the DNAC to discover (just need to basic parameter to discover the device)

Thank you, No errors! the discover completes, but the discovery of devices summary is zero. I have tried with loop back address and management address. I wrote erase the switch a couple of times., but still no luck. NO errors.

couple of the things to check .

1. what is the version DNAC

2. what switch model and IOS code running

3. have you check the compatibility matrix (switch is supported?)

4. what method you using to discovery the switch ?

5. when you use discovery on GUI, did the device discovered ?

Thank you, I will skip the first 4 question because this switch was previously working in dna center. it was part of a stack. i need switch to bring up another location. it was not being use so i pulled from the stack.

1. I am using discovery tool to discover the switch.

2. No the switch did not discover at all

3. I didn't see in as unassigned in inventory.

You need to remove that from stack inventory before you provision to different site.

you can add edge device - Lan automation tools, but the device should not be in the inventory for that work.
