We have several users using laptops that they dock at their desk and then have multiple monitors. The laptop has a webcam built in along with one of the monitors when they dock. Other apps handle this just fine and you can switch the webcam used, but Jabber does not seem to handle this correctly. Jabber seems to randomly select one of the webcams and even though you can change the webcam in the options nothing happens. Sometimes it will select the webcam in the laptop which is closed and we are unable to get it to switch to the monitor's webcam.
Cisco Jabber 11.8.3 for Windows
Dell M7400 series laptops
Dell docking station (various including D3300)
Dell multimedia monitor P2418HZ
Both cameras are listed as Integrated Webcam and perhaps that is part of the issue.
Any suggestions would be helpful or if this is a known issue.
Thanks,
Rob

Rob,
in Jabber if you go to video options>advanced and swap the priority, by putting the monitor cam on top, does that make any difference?

No, changing the priority doesn't have any affect. We tried that.
Using other apps, like WebEx for example, we can change the camera and it works fine. It is just Jabber we have this issue with where we cannot select a different integrated webcam.

Raise it with TAC if you are running the latest version.
its obviously not hooking into your OS properly.
