Hi there

Since its from 10.0 CCX to 11.6 there are no direct upgrades and you have to do a Refresh Upgrade procedure.

For any upgrades you have to go thru the install/upgrade guides and make sure you understand the steps and process. If you are doing for the first time, I suggest you to stage it in a lab, test it out (DNS required) and also open a TAC case and keep them standby during the maintenance/switchover window period.

In high level, below are the steps you need to follow. (Start from Chapter 4 in the below guide)

  1. Check the pre-installation checklist (NTP, DNS, Firewalls etc)
  2. Check the Memory requirements (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/uc_system/ virtualization/virtualization-cisco-unified-contact-center-express.html)
  3. Apply cop files for 11.6 (For HA, Install on both nodes) (http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html)
  4. Upgrade using CLI or Web GUI
  5. Switch version
  6. Check Service status (Check DB replication if you have HA)
  7. Upgrade the CCX clients

Note- No more CAD, its just Finesse for Agent

Good Luck

Hope this helps!

Cheers
Rath!

I must upgrade from 10.0 to 10.0SU1 for first ?

Hi there

Basically there are two ways of upgrade. Linux to Linux (L2L) and Refresh Upgrade (RU).

A Refresh Upgrade is required in situations where incompatibilities exist between the old and new software releases.

From 10.X to 11.6 its listed as a RU and you have to install the cop files on active partition on node(s). The upgrade guide is not mentioned a requirement for a SU install. Also make sure you are meeting the Virtual machine requirements for 11.X

Hi Kumar,

Note
You must be on the latest SU version before upgrading to a version on a higher major version.
