BE7000M --CUCM 11.X deployment-related issues

There are two BE7000M servers, install CUCM11.x, how do I configure both hardware and support 7500 users, the Redundancy model that you choose, in addition to this problem, I still have doubts, the document describes BE7000M supports up to 5000 users, but why VM deployments can choose 7500 and 10000 user ?

Please help, Thank you!

If you configure more than 5000 users then it becomes just a regular cucm and the be7000 rules will not apply. The redundancy and other features can be configured as a normal cucm cluster.

Thank you for your answer, then be7000 install CUCM OVA, whether a single 7500users can be deployed, two be7000 which kind of deployment model?

Hi,

The second server will be added as a Subscriber to the existing Publisher. Ideally it should use the same OVA as the Publisher and it will result in a standard CUCM cluster of two servers which can be co-located or located at different sites based on your setup or requirement.

Hi Manish,

In case the user requirement is more then 5000 user, then how to achieve it

As per the BE7K document it says by stacking we can achieve more than 5000 users.

With Cisco BE7000 you can try a group of collaboration technologies with a subset of employees and then scale up quickly. Pay as you grow, rather than making a large initial outlay. Cisco BE7000 is optimized for enterprise-scale organizations with 1000 to 5000 users and 3000 to 15,000 devices, but offers a great fit for smaller deployments where fast growth is expected. And by stacking additional servers, deployments larger than 5000 users can be supported at anytime.

UCS on UC need to be considered ?

Raaj

Hi Raaj,

As per the design guide:

"More than two physical servers may be clustered to provide additional redundancy and/or geographic distribution as with a clustering over the WAN deployment. However, with Cisco Business Edition 6000, the additional server(s) only provides redundancy and not a capacity increase. For example, with BE6000S, the total number of users across the cluster may not exceed 150; with BE6000M and BE6000H, the total number of users across the cluster may not exceed 1,000. A deployment exceeding this limit is considered to be a standard Unified CM cluster, and as such the deployment must follow high availability design guidance for standard Unified CM. (See Unified CM High Availability.) With Cisco Business Edition 7000, the capacity is not limited to 1,000 users; rather, the standard application capacity planning and design rules apply."

Does not matter which templates you use and how many, i.e. 1 x 7500 user Pub + as many as you want 7500 Subs on as many physical servers as you desire. If you stay under total 5000 actual users you are fine.  If you go beyond that then as Manish stated it becomes traditional non-bundle deployment.
