Hi all,
I can't find any mention of Cisco phones which support Opus at present, even though support was introduced with CUCM 11. Does support exist for any phone series?
Is it possible for recent phones to support the codec via firmware upgrade, or are codecs for phones only implemented in hardware?
Thanks!

Read here:
If you want roadmap information about opus support, that's something you would need to discuss with your AM/SE as roadmap items cannot be discussed at CSC

FYI
My 8800 series phones are talking to each other with the Opus codec now. Firmware load sip88xx.11-5-1-18. CUCM version 11.5.1.10000-6. I didn't do anything special to enable this. I just happened to notice that was the codec in use on a live call between two of our 8800 series phones on that firmware.

Thanks Jaime.
Technically speaking, is it possible for Cisco phones to receive new codec support via future firmware upgrades?

I honestly don't know, and even if I knew, it would probably something that just cannot be discussed at CSC due to the low privilege level that it has, compared to other communities, like the partner communities.

I was wondering too and found that : http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/business-video/business-video/endpoint-product-matrix.pdf
So pretty much : 78XX, 88XX, MX, SX, DX series (except DX650)
Cheers.
