I am currently working with a vendor on integrating an Iridium 9575 Sat phone to our UC environment. Currently we have inbound calls from the Iridium Sat phone ring to a desk phone and works for two way conversation. The problem we are running into is outbound calls from a 8800 series desk phone routed to the Iridium Sat phone. Iridium uses the following dial sequence:
- +1- area code-number or 001-area code-number (used this)
I know there is delay of about 30 to 90 seconds for the Iridium phone to connect to the Iridium network since its based off of timing slots.
The current setup is as follows:
- Iridium 9575 -> FXO port on ISR 4331 -> CUCM -> 8800 Desk Phone
- ISR 4331: 16.12
- CUCM: 12.5.1.14900-63
Is this even do able for out bound calls?
