I'm joining this thread as I'm having the same sort of issue.
However, I am running LMS 3.2 on Solaris 10.
I intalled 3.2 and tried to restore from a backup I took on the same server after installation (a successfull backup).

I attached EssentialsDM.log and EssentialsDM_Server.log logs.
After the restore fails some processes are not starting (Apache, EssentialsDM etc...).
Can you please let me know how to overcome this issue?
BTW, I'm not sure if I enabled HTTPS or not before I took the backup (if that matters).
