5515 with a HA 5516

I have a client that has a 5515-x with Sourcefire. He wants to add HA function. Can he install a 5516 for the failover machine (HA)?

If not, can the current 5515 SourceFire subscriptions be moved to a new 5516 for an HA solution?

Hi,

From licensing perspective, license for ASA5515 are device specific and cannot work for ASA5516 model. So you cannot transfer the license between models and it will not work. For High availability of models please check the ordering guide and device support manuals. I would advice to reach out to your Cisco Sales contact for more help.
