I am seeing the follwoing error message when I update the FMC admin account password.
"cisco fmc an error has occurred when updating user account information in the firmware for lights-out management access. see log files for more details about possible causes of the failure."
The lights-out management access option field is already checked and greyed out.
Does anyone know what could b ethe issue?

Did you follow the password strength guidelines here:

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure the password is strong. I have vFMC. The password is 17 characters long. It fulfills all requirements. The 'Admin' account password is giving this error but I was able to update another account with the same password and this other account also has admin privileges.

Have you tried a less strong password with fewer characters - say 12 or so?

That actually solved my issue. Thanks for the hint. a 10-character password.
