Re: FPR2110 without [any] Contracts

The basic Threat license on a Firepower 2110 is "L-FPR2110T-T-1Y". List price is US$2589.40 for one year. "L-FPR2110T-TMC-1Y" is for Threat, Malware and URL Filtering and list price is US$6602.97 for one year.

Contrast that with a Firepower 1010:

$1413.55 hardware cost, $134 Smartnet (TAC and software upgrades), $282.48 Threat license = $1830.03 list price or ~70% of just the license cost for a 2110. For that you get a brand new box with full TAC support.

Alright that makes complete sense. I guess I was so focused on the 2110 cause I was fortunate and able tog et one for 250 bucks from a friend.

I also like the appeal of rack mount, which all my devices are.

You can get a rack mount kit for the Firepower 1010. We don't sell a lot of them but the part number is FPR1K-DT-RACK-MNT= . List price is $351.23.

You can see how it looks here:

Well it seems I may go with;

$1413.55 hardware cost, $134 Smartnet (TAC and software upgrades), $282.48 Threat license = $1830.03 list price or ~70% of just the license cost for a 2110. For that you get a brand new box with full TAC support. As well as the mount you mentioned.

Now I just need to figure out the process and PID's for all these items. I have never actually purchased new Cisco products, or from where to get.

Any authorized partner should be able to sell it to you. Just mention those items I specified - those  are straight from the Cisco ordering tool.

Alright so before I contact sales, I wanted to research myself and found this. I do hope I was correct.

FPR1010-NGFW-K9 - Device

L-FPR1010T-TM-1Y - Threat Defense/Malware

CON-SNT-FPR1010N - Smart Net Total Care Extended Service Agreement

Rack Mount.

You included the TM license (Threat and Malware). I find the Malware licenses less useful on the edge firewall since they cannot see files in encrypted streams (e.g https = 90% or more of Internet traffic).

By the way Cisco's lead time on Firepower 1010 is currently quoted as 140 days - unless your vendor has some in stock.
