Weird issue result of ping test with two fabrics(vxlan+evpn)
Hello guys, We have hit into some weird issue in our test topology , Can you guys help us to fix the issue? thanks.
Test environments:
We have build a test topology with two same fabrics(vxlan+evpn) without any controller, and we use a traditional Nexus7k switch to make L2 and L3 connects with two fabrics.
Test topology:
test---leaf1/2 -- spine 1/2 -- border1/2 -------- N77(traditional L2/L3 link) -------- border 1/2 --- spine 1/2 -- leaf 1/2--test
P.S. The structure inside those two fabrics are the standard spine-leaf structure, leaf1/2 connected to test terminal with VPC, border1/2 connected to N77 with two different physical cable for L2/L3 linking, We want to use L2 link with N77 to simulate OTV.
The issue result of ping test:
We have found that when we ping between two test terminals under different fabric's leaf, The ping result will be normal and succeed at the beginning, BUT the ping result will became to Request timed out after 1500 seconds (Every time we tried was 1500s).
If we reboot the test terminals or modify the MAC address of test terminal's NIC, The ping result will come back from "Request timed out" result to “Succeed” temporary. 1500 seconds later, The ping result will became to failure again.
