Unity connected to E2K

Customer has recently upgraded from 2.46 to 3.0(2).
They are having problems adding subscribers and we are wondering if there configuration is supported. Here is the enviroment:

Unity 3.0(2) is connected to on box E2K in a W2K domain.
Users are homed on an Ex55 NT4 DC.
From the SA we can import existing users from the Ex55 server with out a problem. When attemtpting to import users from the E2K server, we get an ungrecognized error has occured.

When attempting to add a new user from the SA, if we choose to have the users mailstore be on the E2K server, it automatically changes the server to be the Ex55 server yet allowing the mailstore to still be set to the E2K store, this is odd. At this point if we choose add anyways, we get an unrecognized error has occured. I did do a search in the SA anyway to see if it was partially added and did not find the user. No errors in event log either. The customer is going to update to 3.0(3) and we will continue, in the mean time are there any issues you might no of with this configuration?

The Unity server is the first E2K server in the customers enviroment. The goal is to replace their Ex55 server with an E2K cluster, they will migrate all users to the E2K cluster at that time. Unity will remain connected to the on box E2K server since Cisco does not support Unity be conntected to a E2K cluster at this time.

*****************
Update to posting
*****************
After upgrading to 3.0(3) the problem where adding a user form the SA and selecting the E2K server as the mailstore and the server setting it self to the Ex55 server, went away, however we still get an unrecognized error has occured when attempting to add the user.
Edited by cmcalpin on 12/26/01 02:32 PM.

Are you talking about having added the same user again? I have seen under 2.4x versions where a partially created user gets trapped in the DOH but is not referenced anywhere in the SA. And all you will ever get is either the generic "error" message, or sometimes an "object deleted" message. Are you running SQL or MSDE? If you are on SQL, use Query analyzer or SQL Manager to view the tables directly and see if that user exists. If you are not familiar with the SQL structure of the databases, call TAC.
