Blocking and Nonblocking Gigabit Line Cards

Can I to connect 1 port Giga Nonblocking (for example, Catalyst 3500 or 2950 series) with 1 port Giga blocking (for example the WS-X4418-GB module)?.

I would think you should be able to.

A blocking switch/module doesn't have enough backplane capacity to support every port being 100% utilized. A non-blocking switch/module supports every port running at 100% utilization with 0% loss.

In short, I don't think the blocking/non-blocking nature of the switches/modules matters if you are connecting the two together. You might run into frame loss issues though on the blocking module if you run all ports at 100% utilization
