BFD on VDSL connections?

Hi All.

I'm trying to get BFD enabled for VDSL connection, currently using Cisco 8300 with NIM-VAB-A card where we're terminated a VDSL connection.

I have tried the following but the router doesn't see any BFD interfaces set up??

interface Ethernet0/1/0.101
encapsulation dot1Q 101
pppoe enable group global
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1
bfd interval 300 min_rx 300 multiplier 3
end

Is this the correct way of performing this task? I already specified the neighbor [ip] fall-over bfd command under my BGP configuration. Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

what are you looking to achieve here with BGP or BFD ?

that correct from my view
you use BFD to detect Peer down (since the direct connect can not detect it).
