what format do i need.

I am curently trying to update an IOS on a 3945 cisco router, it has not been updated since 2011. I cant use a tftp server so I am using a 32g thumbdrive. I upload the flash from the usb to flash0: and change the boot system. I save the cofig and then  reload the router.............I get an error saying error invalid image for platform, the thumb drive is formated to FAT32. I am out of ideas not really sure where to go from here besides using google the past two days trying to find a solid answer.

Thank you for your time.

What is the exact filename of the IOS and what is the exact model number of the router?

its a 3900 series router but the router is a 3945, its current ios is c3900-universalk9-MZ.SPA.151-3.T1.bin,

i am trying to get it to c3900-universalK9.SPA.155-3.M6.bin.

Post the complete output to the following commands:
1. sh inventory;
2. sh version; and
3. dir
