I know that this is not the first thread about searching productID or SW release in this API.
But when starting to download CiscoSecurityAdvisory XML (p.e: http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/contentxml/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20160210-asa-ike/cvrf/cisco-sa-20160210…)
and I would like to match against platform version, I have to find the ProductID from the advisory somewhere.
The problem is, that in SNMP the sysDescr looks like this:
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 9.1(5)15
whereas the ProductID in the advisory is:
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software 9.1.5.15
As long as there is no common output for ProductID on both sides, it's nearly impossible matching this two parameters.
Can you please tell me how we best should match device - SW release to productID.
