Hi Guys,
Currently we are using 4 standalone C3650-24PS switches in the production network. Planning to configure these 4 switches into stack. Can anyone please tell me what the precautions are to be taken while configuring the stack.
I mean any changes like remove exist L3(management) vlan IP address of individual switch and remove default routing configuration of individual switch during the stack configuration.
Thank you...

Hi,
The first thing you'd want to do is make a complete backup of your switches, because once you stack them, you only make config changes to the primary switch and the primary switch will push the config to all the members. So, that means instead of 4 IPs to manage the switches, you will have to worry about one IP to manage the whole stack. Also, routing-wise, all the routing will be configured on the primary. You would also need a long enough maintenance window to load the config and verify if everything is working after converting them to stack.
