We have two stacks of catalyst 3850 running Denali 16.3.5: each one is composed of a WS-C3850-48T + a WS-C3850-24T linked by stackwise and powerstack. A PAGP etherchannel of 8 Gb/e ports (4 ports on the 48T and 4 on the 24T, so it's a cross-stack etherchannel) has been configured to improve the performance of the network.
Two weeks ago, an issue as happened on our switching infrastructure and we are wondering about the etherchannel's conf.
I'm reading again'n again the software configuration guide but don't find a definitive answer: should I change the mode from PAGP to ON?
Plus: I can't figure out what the follow means: "If cross-stack EtherChannel is configured and the device stack partitions, loops and forwarding issues can occur".
