From bundle to instal mode (C3850)

Hi,

I`m having a small issue.

I`m assigned to upgrade a series of switch. All the switches are done. Except a few.

I notices that these switches are booted manual (Old IOS way) in bundle mode. I need these converted to instal mode.

I`f found a few Cisco document to do that. But the first command in the document does not work on the switch.

i also found an another topic here:

but the command 

software expand running to flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.04.E.152-2.E4.bin

Does not work. the error i receive :

[1]: Expanding the running bundle
[1]: % Specified destination flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.04.E.152-2.E4.bin is not a directory. Operation aborted.

I did not found any other documents or solutions how to solve this thing.

Does anyone has a suggestion?

Try the command software install file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.04.E.152-2.E4.bin

I`f tryed all kind of commando`s.

This is the output of your suggestion:

Switch#software install file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.04.E.152-2.E4.bin
% Switch 1 must be running installed software to perform this operation

May be i need to replace the switch. I thinks it's faster :-)
any more suggestions?

It's up to you if you would want to find another switch and hopefully it's not in BUNDLE mode too :).
