How to enable multicast routing on 2960s ?

Hi everyone,

I need to enable multicast routing on 2960s but the command "ip multicast-routing" isn't available on my release (12.2.(55)).

Does anyone know from which release this command is available?

Hello Alexandre,

Catalyst 2960 and 2960-S series switches support static unicast routing only. There is no support for multicast routing, and I doubt there will be any in the future, as these switches are positioned as Layer2 access switches. For multicast routing, you need at least Catalyst 3550, 3560 and higher.
