Nexus - disable VTP on per-interface basis doesn't work

Hi Community,

I've got an issue with a Nexus 5k/2k - I'm trying to disable VTP on a dedicated Port just to be sure a switch

from a different vendor won't talk VTP with our network.

Regarding docu the per-interface command "vtp" and "no vtp" is implemented since 5.x.

I'm running 6.0(2)N1(2a) and the command is not available in interface-mode.

"no vtp ?" returns "*** No matching command found in current mode, matching in (config) mode ***"

feature vtp, of course, is enabled - the Nexus is also still talking VTP to another switch on other ports.

"feature vtp" is currently the only command in the config which includes "vtp".

I've got 2 Nexus 5548 running in one VPC-Domain and some n2k fex's (2232)connected to these 5k's.

does anybody have an idea how to disable the VTP on a specific port?

many thanks in advance,

Chris

hi christian,

i am getting you problem  you can try this

the port you dont want to particiapte in VTP MODE

just go in to the configuration mode and select that port and make that port from trunk port to access port so it will not share the information to other switch connected to it

Switch#
Switch#conf t

Switch(config)#in
Switch(config)#interface f
Switch(config)#interface fastEthernet x/x (what ever the port)
Switch(config-if)#sw
Switch(config-if)#switchport mo
Switch(config-if)#switchport mode ac
Switch(config-if)#switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)#do wr
