I'm designing a classic 3 tiered network with a pair of Nexus's serving as the core and a pair of Nexus's serving as the distribution layer. I was wondering how I can incorporate VPC's between the core and distribution while still using layer 3 links. I know there's some caveats about running layer 3 over VPC and peer links. Do I have to pick one or the other. I would like to get some input on this especially those who have done this design before. Also, see attached diagram.

This topology is known as double-side VPC.
Check layer_3 VPC supported topologies.

I hope this helps and good luck!

What I'm looking to do is to have my default gateway for all my SVI's on the distribution switches by using HSRP. In a double sided VPC you would typically configure a layer 2 VPC between the Nexus core and distribution switches but can I make that VPC layer 3 instead of layer 2 and run a routing protocol between them.
