Problem on CIsco SX20 shared with MS Teams

v15

Good morning,

Thank you in advance for your help.

We have a room where we have installed a Cisco SX20 videoconferencing system with a Cisco Touch 10. The problem we are encountering is that when we are in a meeting, an external tries to share screen and we do not see what is sharing only we get a message Live Content is being shared ..., everyone else can see what you share except the room where the SX20 is mounted, each emphasize that Microsoft Teams is used to make meetings. The videoconference is connected with Webex.

Thank you very much

Best regards

Microsoft’s CVI APIs do not support live sharing capabilities in their productivity suite. The presenter needs to share their screen instead.

Alternatives:

  • Look at Synergy Sky which has developed a different interop solution that supports this.
  • Buy a current generation video endpoint from Cisco and configure it for a native Microsoft Teams Room experience. This only makes sense if Teams Meetings is your primary platform though.

Hi jonathan,

Thank you very much for your answer, we have verified that it is indeed what you are telling us. Do you know if there is a KB on this matter?

Thank you very much

As this is a limitation on the Microsoft side I would recommend you to seek an answer on this on their forum.

Prior to an update in Feb 2024, the "live" stream just wouldn't work at all, with no message being displayed.  A change was made to add the warning.   See Webex Video Integration for Microsoft Teams
