BE7K Reachability Issue with Cisco 2960-X Switch

We have BE7K Server which is connected to Cisco 2960-X stack switch. We are facing reachability issue with CIMC, ESXi and VMs installed on this server.

It been observed that When we use default 10-Gig ports of UCS for connectivity with Cisco 2960-X server which has 1 Gig ports we face frequent packet drop and access loss to either ESXi or CUCM Subscriber installed on this UCS Server.

If we use 1Gig PCI Card port on UCS Server then the frequency of this disconnection gets reduced.

Its weird issue we are facing. Has anyone faced same.

Hi,

Could be lots of different things obviously.

I'm assuming you don't have speed/duplex hardcoded on the switch ports?

How are the ports configured, are you doing any aggregation on switch? (or just VMWare load balancing by virtual port ID)

Is there a show interface from the switch?

I have seen issues with UCS and drivers for VMWare for certain components.

Worth checking your firmware and ESXi versions.

Are you running Cisco custom image or standard VMWare image?
