Hello
i see in Cisco Prime Collaboration the following minor alarms:
Description=SNMP entity has received a protocol message that is not properly authenticated

i know i can suppress the alarms, but can anyone tell me why this is generated? how is it when Cisco PCA can manage the device, i get authentication issue on SNMP v2c ?
thanks in advance

Hi.
What are the state and discovery status for that device in DWC ? Does the credentials validation succeed ?
This trap is sent to PCA by a device when it receives an SNMP request from a non-authorized host or with a wrong community name.

Hi Phil,
Even I am facing this issue.
The server is in managed state in Device Work Center. But still observing the Alarm " SNMP entity has received a protocol message that is not properly authenticated.".
Also it takes 15 to 20 minutes for an alarm to get cleared.
Thanks,
Dinesh
