Hi guys,
I need some help on upgrade on CUCM 7.x to CUCM 11.5
Currently our client have an existing 590 DLUs which following phone
Phone Model
Cisco 6921 x 38units --> Convert to 38 Basic licenses
Cisco 7911 x 100units --> Convert to 100 Enhance Licenses
Cisco 7940 x 2units --> Convert to 2 Enhance Licenses
Cisco 7942 x 22units --> Convert to 22 Enhance Licenses
DLU usage : 510
Available DLU : 80
Here are my questions
1.) Can I upgrade it direct from version 7.x to 11.5 ?
2.) Which SKU that used to upgrade from version 7.x to 11.5 ?
Is it UCL-UCM-UPG-K9 ?
3.) How to migrate from 7.x to 11.5 can we use PCD ?

Hi,
Yes, you can upgrade directly to 11.5. You will need to raise a migration case with the licensing team to have your licenses issued when ordering with UCL-UCM-UPG-K9. Just use the License Count Utility to run a report on your current system and this will generate the email case request.
Alternatively, you could consider the BE6000 solution for this size of customer. In this case, you can order the licenses you list above directly using R-CBE6K-K9 - no need for a migration case (you can also select a license starter pack). Purchase of these licenses also requires BE6000 hardware (BE6M-M4-K9=) - not sure if you have a virtualised host for the 11.5 install or not yet.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for the information.
We also propose BE6H too but we are wondering that we want to minimize the cost for the UCL licenses hence we may consider to use the starter pack and upgrading the DLUs licenses.

Yes - that would be the best option.
Bear in mind that UCL starter packs include voicemail licenses (you didn't mention Unity Connection), which require SWSS cover.
