VMWare tool running out of date.

I have recently rebooted one of my BE6000 and all my applications CUCM, CUC and CUCM IM&P are showing VMware tools: Running (Out-of-date)

I would like to know the steps to update the VMware tools whether it is required server reboot or otherwise.

Thanks.

As correctly pointed by Aman [+5], the option 3 of the following link does not require a reboot

Thanks for replying all.

This is production environment and for the system requires to reboot based on the suggestions above. Any other means to complete this without disrupting the service. What is the impact if VMWare tool warning message that is it is running out of date ignored?

Thanks

Thanks guys,

before running (current) when installed it goes not installing stage then running current.

Thank you very much for your instructions.

Is the issue resolved ?

regds,

aman

Yes it is resolved. Just the process was bit confusing as I was hoping from out of date to current.

Thanks

Ahmed

Thanks again,

I did as suggested and now it is showing not running (not installed)

Hi,

Through vsphere client, right click on the application, select Guest---install/Upgrade Vmware tools--Automatic Tools Upgrade and wait for about 3-4 minutes. It would change from Out Of date to running " Current"

None of the application/server has to be restarted.
