Configure Softkeys on SPA504G for Transferring Calls

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can help. Just wondering if it is possible to turn the 4 softkeys on the SPA504G to hold buttons/line buttons. I want to be able to put a caller on hold using the softkeys so that either one of the 4 users in the office can then pick up that line from another phone. If someone puts a call on hold that person could tell the person next to them to pick up line 2 or line 3 etc and then take the call that has been placed on hold.

Canb someone tell me how this is done?

It sounds like you want to monitor a line.  If the line is a shared line, you should set up a shared line config among the phones.  If the line to be monitored is private line, you'll want to use the extended function parameter to do this.  All of the details for this is in the admin guide.  Admin guide is available for download on the cisco.com small business site.

Maybe you have already considered this, but if your systems supports it, call parking might be the way to go.  That's what we use. Call comes in, we press park, the phone tells us what line it's parked on, and tell the other person what line it's parked on.
