IPSec VPN on ASA-SM

Hi,

Im wondering if the Adaptive Security Services Module has some of the same function as a ASA 5500.

Can we configure a IPSec VPN tunnel, SSL VPN tunnel or IPS on a C6500 with ASA-SM or do we need a specific line card for those tasks?

VPN and IPS are not supported features in the ASA-SM. There are no add-on cards for the ASA-SM at this time.

If you require VPN and/or IPS, you need to use the ASA appliance, not the Service Module. Note that VPN is not compatible with multiple context mode, even on the appliance.

Please note, the ASASM does indeed support IPSEC now and ASA's support ipsec in multicontext as well.
