Hello.

I try to load the Autonomous Ios in the flash. The Ios version is ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB but dont start the Ap.

I load this Ios with tftp conection but in the statup I see this error:The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT environment variable needs to be set to a bootable.

I try with Ios most old , but I see the same error. Only work with the lightweight Ios.

Thank´s.

Try downloading the image again and verify that the MD5 hash matches. You should be able to delete the other images in flash and use the TFTP method to upload the image again. The rule of thumb is that if there is an autonomous image on CCO, then it is supported by TAC and that means it should work.

Try to set the boot following this guide. It's old, but still have the same process. Look at step 8 where it tells you how to set the boot.

Thanks for your Answer.

I try now the process again following youtube video.

The only diferent with my process is the tftp server. I work with solarisWinds.

Now I try with tftpd32

I thinck the error is in the sending image ios.

When I finish with this test, I will write.

I have the same problem.

I write the mesages process.

extracting ap1g2-k9w7-m.153-3.jab...

deleting target version:flash:/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3JAB...done

new software image instaled in falsh:/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3JAB

configuring systeam to use new image...done

requested system reload in progress...download took about 4289 seconds

loading"flash:/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB...###############

The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT enviroment variable needs to be set to a bootable image.

ap:

If I try with the lightweight image Ios, work good.

This AP only work with lightweight  IOs???? This is my fear.

Did you reference this on how to set the boot?

Hi.

Yes, I read this reference and I don´t see nothing.

In my case, I put ap: set and I see this.

BOOT:FLASH:/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB/ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB

DEFAULT_ROUTER=10.0.0.1

IP_ADDR=10.0.01

NETMASK=255.255.255.224

RELOAD_REASON=41

My question is. The ios ap1g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JAB is valid to AIR-CAP702I-E-K9?   Because I don´t have problems with the Ios ap1g2-k9w8, only have problems with ap1g2-k9w7.

Regards

I have AIR-CAP702I-F-K9 with ap1g1-rcvk9w8-mx 15.2(4)JA.

How to set this AP from LLW to Autonomous ?

I already download the autonomous image.

Hi Mochamadfathony.

You will need K9W7 code for Autonomous.

Here are the basic instructions...

Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server
software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30. (disable McAfee
firewall)_
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such
as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the
TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Set the timeout value on the TFTP server to 30 seconds.
Step 4 On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps:
a. Disable any software firewall products, such as Windows firewall,
ZoneAlarm firewall, McAffee firewall, or others.
b. Ensure all Windows files are visible. From Windows Explorer, click
Tools > Folder Options > View; then uncheck the Hide extensions for
known file types check box.
Step 5 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to
c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point,
Step 6 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5)
Ethernet cable.
Step 7 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 8 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 9 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red
(approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 10 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs
turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 11 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or
the CLI.

Andy.
