AP 3802 radios not up 9300 series poe+ switch

hello there,

AP registers with WLC  but unable to turn on the radios, so, ssid is not showing. but works well with POE injector. given the command "power inline static max 30000"  in switch(9300 PA) as well but not working. cdp and lldp are disabled as per organisation security policy.

what went wrong?

You should advice your internal security policers about thow PoE+ negotiation works on devices via CDP or LLDP-Med. When legacy Cisco APs (IOS-AP and APx800 series) do not have enough power they behave weirdly like not bringing up radios, or disconnecting clients, or not allowing clients to connect, or SSIDs dissapearing, ...

So, it is mandatory to run either CDP or LLDP in switch, and there is no workaround? if it is so, then what are the config to be added to the switch in global mode and interface wise. first we have to try and test and then only we can raise the issue as an exception.

The only workaround is to use Power injectors so add that to your CAPEX.

In order to enable LLDP (vendor agnostic standard) or CDP (Cisco proprietary protocol that may not work with other vendors) do "lldp run" or "cdp run", or limit that by interface by entering "lldp transmit" AND "lldp receive", OR "cdp enable"

Your recommendation worked, tried in one of the same model switch with cdp enabled in both global and interface mode. but sadly "power inline static max 30000" didn't worked.
