I've read numerous postings here about Apple AirPlay / Apple TV on this forum but still haven't been able to configure my 1042 AP correctly to do robust airplay.
The ap is in autonomous mode, no controllers involved.
I have a working Cisco 871W that has absolutely no problems with AirPlay. The config on both (the wireless aspects) are the same.
It is a multicast issue; but I cannot get around this and make it work. Already tried the igmp snooping configured off and on. No difference.
Have tried all latest IOS releases for the AP (12.4 / 15.2) but it just doesn't work correctly. If I shut down the AP and only have my 871W online everything is fine. If I only have the 1042 AP online airplay doesn't work, although at some very short moments, the iPad does seem to see the apple tv. Both APs share the same VLAN, no routing involved, plain layer 2.
Do any configurations exist that make the AP 1042 work with AirPlay? Is there a known bugid that I can track/trace? Should I open a TAC case for this?
