Hello,

test the below procedure:

1. **Reset the Router (Optional)**:
If your new D-Link router has been previously configured, you may want to perform a factory reset to ensure it's in its default state. Look for a small reset button on the router and hold it down for about 10-15 seconds.

2. **Connect to the Router**:
Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer or laptop to one of the LAN (Ethernet) ports on the new D-Link router. You can usually do this by plugging the Ethernet cable into one of the numbered LAN ports on the router.

3. **Access the Router's Configuration Page**:
Open a web browser on your computer and enter the default IP address of the new D-Link router in the address bar. This is typically `192.168.0.1` or `192.168.1.1`. Press Enter.

4. **Login to the Router**:
You'll be prompted to enter a username and password to access the router's settings. By default, the username is usually "admin" and the password is either "admin" or blank. If you've changed these settings before and forgot them, you may need to perform a factory reset.

5. **Set up Wi-Fi Extender Mode**:
Once logged in, look for the option to set up the router as a Wi-Fi extender or repeater. This may be labeled as "Wireless Repeater," "Wi-Fi Extender," or something similar. Navigate to this section of the settings.

6. **Scan for Available Networks**:
In the Wi-Fi extender setup section, you'll likely see an option to scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Click on this option to scan for the wireless networks in your area. Select your primary D-Link router's Wi-Fi network from the list.

7. **Enter Wi-Fi Password**:
After selecting your primary router's Wi-Fi network, you'll need to enter the Wi-Fi password for that network. This is the same password you use to connect your devices to the primary router's Wi-Fi network.

8. **Configure Wireless Settings**:
You may be prompted to configure wireless settings for the extended network. You can usually keep these settings the same as your primary router's settings, including the network name (SSID) and password, or you can customize them if you prefer.

9. **Apply Settings and Reboot**:
Once you've entered all the necessary information, apply the settings and wait for the router to reboot. After rebooting, disconnect the Ethernet cable from your computer and the router.

10. **Placement**:
Place the new D-Link router in a location where it can receive a strong Wi-Fi signal from your primary D-Link router. This will ensure optimal performance as a Wi-Fi extender.

11. **Test Connection**:
Finally, test the connection by connecting your devices to the extended Wi-Fi network and ensure they have internet access. You may also want to test the signal strength in different areas to make sure the Wi-Fi coverage has improved.
