what are the pros and cons of very small AP Groups? I am talking about AP group with 1-3 APs in them, is there a best practice on a minimum number of APs in an AP Group. how would we approach RF Profile and RRM in such type of AP Group.

There is no such min number of AP for AP group. All depend on your requirement.
If you want to control certain characteristics of particular APs, then you put them into one AP group.

Thanks for your response Rasika, so how do we approach rf profile configuration specific to AP group in such type of scenario?

If you have a lot of small AP groups it can be a management nightmare. Also in the past we had very specific AP groups bugs.
Two main reason people go with AP groups is for RF profiles and SSID segmentation.
Here is some reading on RF profiles
